Melissa Douglas is an American politician who was elected as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives for the 27th district in 2024. In the legislature, Douglas serves on the Budget committee and the committee on Professional Registration and Licensing.

Before her election, she worked in education and served as the McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaison for the Kansas City Public Schools for 17 years.

Douglas holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Idaho State University and a master’s in public administration from the University of Phoenix. She is also active at Spruce Saint Matthew Baptist Church in Kansas City.
