Born on September 9, 2003, Caleb Douglas is an American football
wide receiver who currently plays for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Before
making his mark at Texas Tech, he was part of the Florida Gators.
Douglas grew up in Missouri City, Texas, where he attended
Hightower High School. His talent shone brightly during his senior year,
earning him the title of District 10-5A Co-Offensive MVP. That season,
he racked up 51 receptions, amassing 984 yards and scoring five
touchdowns. His impressive performance led him to commit to the
University of Florida for college football.
Douglas
began his collegiate journey at Florida, where he played eight games as
a true freshman in 2022, starting in two. He recorded 10 receptions for
175 yards and two touchdowns. His sophomore season in 2023 started
promisingly, with five consecutive starts, but a fibula injury sidelined
him for the rest of the year. Despite this setback, he managed 11
receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown.
After the 2023 season,
Douglas entered the transfer portal, ultimately choosing Texas Tech
University as his next destination. His first season with the Red
Raiders in 2024 saw him take on a crucial role, starting all 13 games
and finishing second on the team with 60 receptions for 877 yards and
six touchdowns—cementing his place as a key offensive player.
Family Caleb Douglas was born in Houston, Texas, the son of Cedric and Felicia Douglas.
He has four siblings - Caylee, Ciara, Leneice and Amari. He comes from a football family lineage as his father played quarterback collegiately at both Vanderbilt and Texas Southern.
