Help with this entry would be very welcome. Is he the nominal 22nd of Cavers, son of Capt. Edward Palmer, JP, DL., and Mary Malcolm; born 1859; died 20 Aug 1949?

If so, the diaries and journals of Archibald Palmer Douglas of Cavers, including accounts of visits to Egypt, Palestine, Canada, Australia and New Zealand which were acquired by the National Library of Scotland in 1984, including the condensed diary, 1880-1905 with a family tree of Douglas of Cavers and Palmer families. .

It is presumed that the recipe book of Mary Malcolm Palmer-Douglas, also held in the National Library, was compiled by Captain Edward's wife.  It is described as "Part of the Malcolm of Burnfoot papers." and dated 1892.  William Elphinstone Malcolm of Burnfoot, Dumfriesshire (d.30 Dec 1907) married Mary Douglas in 1857.
