The Douglas' were a prominent mining family affiliated with the Copper Queen Mine and later the Phelps Dodge Company.

As this section of the Douglas Archives develops, I hope to identify others who have contributed the state and to the wider world.

•  Dr James Douglas, 1800-1896, was a doctor who was the first in Quebec city to use chloroform anesthesia, amongst other advanced paratices.
•  Dr James Walter Douglas, 1837-1918, son of the above, from Canada, he is known as the 'Father of Bisbee'.
•  Walter Douglas, 1870-1946, General Manager of the Phelps, Dodge & Co. mining interests, was a son of the above.
•  Walter, Jr., son of the above, operated Gilpin Airlines in Tucson. 
•  Lewis Williams Douglas, 1874-1974, was an American politician, diplomat, businessman and academic. He was also a son of James Douglas Jr.
•  James Stuart Douglas, 1922-1977, son of the above, was a horseman, cattleman, rancher, banker, civic leader, sculptor and an artist.
•  Sharman Douglas,1929-1996, sister to the above, was a talent agent, a movie publicist, a public-relations agent and an American socialite.

•  Adrian Douglas, who died in 2013, ran a consultancy business specializing in pricing and marketing 
•  A. E. (Andrew Ellicott) Douglass, 1867-1962, was an American astronomer.
