  Marriage	There is some confusion surrounding George Lauder of Haltoun's marriage. George Crawfurd's Peerage (p. 91) states that he married "Helen, a sister of Lord Douglas", and that is repeated by J. Stewart Smith (1898). The assumption is that she must be the sister of Archibald Douglas, 4th Earl of Douglas (1372– 1424), and so the daughter of Archibald Douglas, 3rd Earl of Douglas (c. 1328-1400).
