• Notes

  Lived at Peggy Run across from Narrowsburg, NY, near Darbytown later in life. He was a well-to-do landowner. According to the History of Wayne Co., "Early lumbermen cut virgin trees high above the Delaware River and skidded the logs down a path in a trough or runway to the river. An old resident known only as "Peggy" lived at the top of the hill where the logs were pushed over. And so, the present-day Peggy Runway got its name." The book also mentions that the early redsidents from England came from Cornwall and established themselves on the west side of Beech Pond in the 1830s. Jon Case has a photo of Frank, George, and Minnie Dexter shot by Max Jacoby at the Dexter Homestead on 5/26/1957.
