  	Marriage record shows Bassel Riddle signed with an "X" and the surety was Zachariah Riddle (groom's father). Milly Hill listed as a "widow." Reverend George Dodson was the minister. According to an 1816 Pittsylvania Co., VA, Court Book #17, page 146, there was a lawsuit involving Bazzle/Barksdale Riddle and his wife Milly Hill vs. Edna Hill, Elizabeth, Jonathan, and Joseph Hill for claim of 1/3 part of land and with the remainder to be divided into four parts, one part for each defendant.
