  	They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1936. Article from Adrian Daily Telegram states: Mr. and Mrs. Burton Bailey of Palmyura Celebrate 50th Wedding Anniversary. Palmyra, Dec. 31 - Mr. and Mrs. Burton Bailey of Palmyra were pleasantly surprised Tuesday evening by their children, grandchildren and near relatives in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary. The evening was spent socially and refreshments were served in conclusion. Mr. and Mrs. Bailey were presented with several gifts. The guests were Mrs. Sam Clough and daughter Betty of Holly, Mrs. Paul Sheldon and son Roger Dean of Tecemseh, Mrs. C. L. Bennington and daughters Wava and Hazel and son Keith of Ogden Center, Miss Harrietta Duer of Adrian, Mr. and Mrs. Merl Bailey and daughter Shirley and son Stanley of Palmyra, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Snyder, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Marks Jr. and daughter Patsy Ann of Blissfield. Mr. and Mrs. Bailey were married December 29, 1886, in Palmyra by Justice of the Peace William Baldwin. They were lifelong residents of Lenawee county, living in Ogden and Palmyra townships. Mr. Bailey is 67 years of age and Mrs. Bailey is 65. To them were born three daughters, Mrs. Sam Clough of Holly, Mrs. George Cary of Chicoga (sic) and Mrs. C. L. Bennington of Ogden Center and one son Merl of Palmyra. They have 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
