  	Janet Anderson email states: Rockwell Thomas and his Mary, left Wayne County for Michigan in 1859. Both Rockwell and Mary died there, living first at Gilead Michigan, later at Six Lakes Michigan. Their daughter Selina Catherine married Peter Simpson (born Sullivan County NY) and eventually they retired to Oregon. Their daughter Louella was my Grandmother-- which brings me to my mother Marjorie (Marguerite) and to me. I live in the East, near Philadelphia, and have only been delayed in getting back to Wayne County for more research by our terrible winter... My great uncle Rockwell Simpson (Selina Catherine's son) was the keeper of family history in our family-- and I always have wondered if saying Grandmother was a Skinner, was somehow him confusing that Grandmother with Amanda Skinner who was Rockwell's mother (if you followed me.)

  Janet Anderson's family has him m. Mary Skinner in Wayne Co., PA. (see below) My great-grandmother Selina Catherine Thomas's death certificate gives her mother's maiden name as Mary Skinner, I have a copy of it. The informant was Rockwell Simpson her son (my Great Uncle) and my Uncle Rock knew his grandmother Mary Thomas (nee either Skinner or Dexter) but his father's mother was absolutely a Skinner (Amanda Skinner daughter of Nathan) so when Terrill said she was Dexter I left the possibility open thinking that through the years my Uncle Rock started getting confused and thinking Grandmother was a Skinner (and he'd have been right -- just the wrong Grandmother.) Plus I saw on the 1850 census that Mary Dexter lived right down the road from Rockwell (still at home with Jesse and Amanda) and I never found an appropriate Mary Skinner.
