Sir William Douglas, Bt, 1763-1809
Sir William Henry Douglas, 2nd Baronet of Carr, born on 28 Jul 1763, was Vice-Admiral of the Blue, the son of Rear Admiral Sir Charles Douglas (known for the relief of Quebec and the breaking of the French line during the American Revolution) and Uranie Lydie Marteilhe.
He was one of six admirals to carry the canopy at Nelson's funeral
He died on 23 May 1809 in Chelsea, unmarried. Upon his death, the baronetcy passed to his younger brother, General Sir Howard Douglas.
