Dr. Stephen A. Douglas

Dr. Stephen A. Douglas, died at his home on Mill Street early Friday morning of a heart ailment of a years duration. He was an ardent advocate of music in the home, school, and church and spent much time in promoting the art, in encouraging and teaching, and placing musical instruments in the hands of all the youth who would avail themselves of it.

Dr. Douglas was born December 15, 1875 and was married to Eva Early in 1896. To this union four children were born, two of whom died in infancy. In 1906 he was married to Miss Iola Patton, to which union one child was born. Mrs. Iola Douglas survives him, and two daughters, Mrs. Lotha Crowder, of Liberal, Kansas; Mrs. Eva Iola Alexander of Kansas City; and one son present address unknown. Carl Douglas.
