Sharon H. Douglas of
Muscogee County is the Vice President of Human Resources, Services for
AFLAC, Incorporated in Columbus, with responsibilities for employee
relations, employment services, corporate training and development,
employee and community services, internal communications and most
recently diversity and retention. She was appointed to the State Board
of Technical and Adult Education in 2001 by Governor Roy Barnes to
represent the State-at-Large and currently chairs the Business
Operations, Technology and Administration Committee and also serves on
the Academic Standards and Programs Committee.
She is Vice Chair
of AFLAC’s Corporate Foundation, a commissioner of the Columbus Housing
Authority and board member for the American Cancer Society. Prior to
joining AFLAC in 1996, Ms. Douglas was the Vice President of Customer
and Employee Services for the City of Columbus’ public utility. She is a
native of Louisiana and graduated with a Computer Science/Business
degree from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana.
