Robyn Douglas

New Zealand artist

As a youngster I developed what some considered was an early aptitude for art, and in my early teens in Dunedin I had private lessons in drawing, watercolour painting and lino-cutting. I continued painting as a hobby for many years using as my subjects flowers, landscapes and still life. However 15yrs ago I switched to oils, tackled portraits and life drawing, and proceeded to explore the exciting world of contemporary art.

Recently (?) I have begun using mixed media, and applying the paint in a variety of ways.

Retirement has given me more time to experiment and to pursue this fascinating and addictive challenge which I never seem to tire of.
