Josalee Douglas was the first wife of Count Jean-François de
Chambrun, who later married Raine, Countess Spencer, the former
stepmother of Diana, Princess of Wales.
Lewis Williams Douglas
(July 2, 1894 – March 7, 1974), an American politician, diplomat,
businessman and academic was the son of James Douglas, Jr., a mining
executive employed by the Phelps Dodge Company, and his wife Josephine "Josalee"
Williams Douglas.
Raine insists that she was "resolutely not
looking for romance." Chambrun, divorced in 1989 from American heiress
Josalee Douglas (mother of their daughters Elizabeth, 23, and Ariane,
20), has said that he "was enjoying [his] freedom, peace and solitude."

the great-grand-daughter of James Stuart
Douglas, as is
Sharman (1929-1996), daughter of Lewis
