Rev James Douglas, born (possibly in 1833) in Wishaw, near Glasgow, Scotland was a Scottish Presbyterian minister.
He was a native of Scotland and a pioneer missionary in Manitoba. 'From 1834 to 1870 wrought in the townships of Monaghan'.
He married Margaret Blyth they had three sons:
In his later years, he stayed with his son, James.
The Douglas district of Edmonton is named after the family.
