On the tomb, in Holm Church, of George Tod, minister of Holm, 10th
November, 1681, who died 3rd November, 1687, aged thirty-nine, is a
double shield, the dexter bearing the arms of Tod — three foxes' heads
contournee issuing out of as many crescents inclined toward the dexter.
The dexter shield is that of his spouse Barbara Scollay. The shield is
an esquire's helmet and mantling and the initials M.G.T. and a heart.
The initials of the wife are obliterated.
Sir James Balfour in
his manuscript gives the arms of Sir Thomas Tode, Knight in 1441, as,
argent, three foxes' heads erased proper.

On the 2nd May he demitted this office as he had been elected Minister
