La Habra Heights
council elects Douglas as mayor
Los Angeles, HABRA HEIGHTS, 25th March 2005-- The City Council has
elected Councilman Bruce Douglas as mayor. It is his first term as mayor.
Douglas was elected to the council two years ago.
"It's an obligation I take on with much interest and
appreciation,' he said.
Douglas was named mayor on Thursday, the same night that new Councilman
Brian Bergman and council members Stan Carroll and Tela Millsap were sworn
in.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Cowell handled the ceremonies.
The council also named Millsap as mayor pro tem.
Douglas, who nominated Millsap, said he was looking for help from her
in dealing with the upcoming zoning ordinance and other codes.
"There's a lot of details and Tela does an outstanding job in
this,' he said.
