Date of Birth:27th August 1967 University
of Kent at Canterbury (1990 - 1993) A bit about me - I'm 34. Single. A software developer by trade. I am Scots,
on my fathers side, and occasionally I can be seen sporting a sporran! My
mothers side hails from Kent, although there is some scots blood there, too (apparently).
As a compromise, I was born and bred in a small market town called Brackley, in
Northamptonshire. I've lived in Stafford, Munich, Canterbury, York and now
Cambridge.
I like to eat, and cook, and drink. In particular, I like Champagne, and I'm
a bit of a champion for English wine.
I also like to bird watch - especially at Fen Drayton, which is just up the
road from where I live (Cambridge) and the Ouse washes, to see the arctic swans.
Favourite bird - the Pintail, a fantastically slender and graceful duck.
I also like films - especially animations from Pixar and their ilk. Today
(4th Feb 2002) I saw the new one, which is superb. I didn't think they'd manage
anything nearly as good as Toy Story 2, but they've got pretty damned close. If
anyone wants to see it again - I'm up for it.
Books are a big part of my life - I have a large collection of books on
computing, cooking and natural history, all of which reside in my library (ok,
the spare useless bedroom).
Music - that's a pretty big part of my life too. I have quite a broad
interest - in particular I like the voice, especially in classical music. I love
leider and song (ancient and modern) and opera - I am a lapsed friend of Covent
Garden - and musicals too.
I also like modern/popular music.
Last but not necessarily least, I like driving. My first car was a Rover
214SLi 1990, which I still have. For four months I drove an Audi TT Roadster 225
BHP - an awesome car, and I've been bitten by the soft-top bug - here's a bit
about my trip to Edinburgh. Next car - hopefully a mark III MR2, 'cos it is as
cheap as chips and drives brilliantly (so I'm told).
