Ada Christine Lightsey Douglas
American author, Ada Lightsey (1874 – 1955) was born at Hickory in Mississippi (June 28, 1874), the daughter of Ransom Jones Lightsey, and was educated at Daleville in Mississippi. She was later married to Luther Douglas (1919). The marriage remained childless.
Ada Douglas produced a collection of verse and prose which celebrated those who had fought with the Confederate forces entitled, The Veteran’s Story: Dedicated to the Heros Who Wore the Gray (1899).
Ada Lightsey Douglas died at Meridian in Mississippi (Dec 19, 1955), aged eighty-one.
