Pierre Melon , known as Pierre Douglas , is a French
journalist , songwriter and actor, born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye (
Yvelines ) on August 17, 1941. Douglas is his middle name, his father
having great admiration for Douglas Fairbanks.
Pierre Douglas began his career as a journalist in 1966 on the France 3
Limoges television channel where he presented the regional television
news. In July 1970 , he joined Europe 1 as a reporter then joined RTL in
1973 . In January 1977 , he entered the political service of TF1 . In
July 1977 , following his meeting with Thierry Le Luron , he left
journalism and made his stage debut.
In 1977, he became a man of the stage when Thierry Le Luron , seduced by
his imitation of Georges Marchais and his famous "It's a scandal!" »,
Encourages him to embark on the world of entertainment [ref. required] 1
. Since this key year, Pierre Douglas has established himself as one of
the pillars of several Parisian stages, such as the Don Camilo , the
Caveau de la République, the Théâtre des Deux Ânes or the César Palace .

From 1978 to 1982 , Pierre Douglas was also a host on France Inter ,
where he hosted the 6.30-8.45am time slot alongside Annette Pavy with
the music for the film La Folie des grandeurs as credits . He resigned
from France Inter at the beginning of August 1982 following the deletion
of his daily program, from 11 am to 12.45 pm, entitled "La Fortune du
pot", after six months on the air 4 . At the same time, he also hosted
the show Stay with us on Saturdays on TF1 , alongside Denise Fabre and
José Garcimore .
During his career, Pierre Douglas was also a theater actor, alongside
Robert Manuel and Bernard Menez in particular and actor at cinema 5 , in
films with Jean Poiret , Michel Serrault or Lino Ventura . In May 2003 ,
we saw him in The Second Truth on France 2 , a TV movie with
Marie-Christine Barrault and Michel Duchaussoy , or in Sous le soleil ,
a TV movie series on TF1 .
In 2006 , Pierre Douglas is one of the performers of the songbook review
of the Théâtre des Deux Ânes . In 2007 , he played there in the show
called Sarkozix le Gaulois . In November 2007 , he released a book
entitled We have not finished laughing (Philippe Rey editions).
He participated on 1 st November 2010on the program Les Grandes Gueules
on RMC by admitting that he adores this program where no one practices
the language of wood characteristic of the French political class.
In 2013 , he played in an episode of the Camping Paradis series on TF1
entitled La Nuit des étoiles and also appeared on the stage of Le
Kabaret - Champagne Music-Hall in Tinqueux near Reims.
That year, he played Prof! , a one-character play, by Jean-Pierre
Dopagne , at the Avignon Festival and then in the provinces. With this
role, it will be the first time that Pierre Douglas will play a dramatic
character. This play, scheduled in January 2016 at the Théâtre du Petit
Gymnase in Paris, was postponed due to the attacks of November 13 .

Since January 2016 , he joined the troupe of the Scènes de Ménages
series , during season 7, on M6 . He regularly appears there alongside
the couple Huguette and Raymond ( Marion Game and Gérard Hernandez ),
under the name of Victor, member of the FLV (Front de Liberation des
Vieux).
In January 1985, he becomes a member of the Economic and Social Council
, section "Living environment, cultural affairs and entertainment" 6 .
He has been a member of the Académie Alphonse Allais since 2016.
Pierre Douglas has been married since 1967. His wife is a doctor. He is
the father of three children.
He has the particularity of having a marked taste for classical music
and a passion for the piano 7 . He learned orchestral conducting for
eleven years at the Schola Cantorum with Jean-Claude Hartemann , where
he obtained his first degree in orchestral conducting. On several
occasions and for charitable purposes (in particular for the Soleil
d'Enfance association), he has conducted several concerts in Paris and
in the provinces, notably Mozart's requiem with the orchestra of Bernard
Thomas and the choirs of Michel Piquemal. . He also had the opportunity
to accompany the pianists Jean-Philippe Collard and Marc Laforet . He
has been taking piano lessons for three years atconservatory of Saint-Maur
des Fossés in the class of Marielle Maurice, whom he also accompanied on
the occasion of concerts at the church of Saint-Julien Le Pauvre in
Paris, with the Impromptu ensemble.
Pierre Douglas is now sponsor of the Nights Vagabondes organized by the
association of songwriters Jam & 203 artists and the town hall of
Langeais which took place at the end of June 2010 .
