1.  When Rev. Silas William Douglas was born on 24 August 1827, in Cumberland, North Carolina, United States, his father, Silas Douglas, was 29 and his mother, Mary Elvira Harrington, was 25. He married Mason Emeline Truelove on 1 June 1848, in Cumberland, North Carolina, United States. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Election Precinct 10 Geneva, Geneva, Alabama, United States in 1900 and Election Precinct 1 Pine Grove, Escambia, Alabama, United States in 1910. In 1850, at the age of 23, his occupation is listed as farmer in Cumberland, Cumberland, North Carolina, United States. He died on 18 December 1915, in Teddy, Escambia, Alabama, United States, at the age of 88, and was buried in Mason Cemetery, Escambia, Alabama, United States.
