"Cyrus moved to Ohio where he and his wife Esther were among thefounders of Middletown, Ohio. Cyrus fought in the Indian Wars inOhio, and helped to bury the dead after St. Clair's defeat. Estherwas a true frontiers woman, born in 1763, who grew up in the midst ofthe Revolution (American). Cyrus died in 1805, and Esther eventuallymoved on to Indiana where she died at the age of 90." Notes:

He left his family when Elmer was 18 months old. Per his death recordprovided by Amy Hough Terry on 07 April 2005, it states that he was an80 years old, white male, when he died in Bloomington, at the McLeanCounty Farm in Illinois, plus that he was also buried on the farm aswell on 15 February 1932. His birth place and parents names were notgiven--stated "not available". The copy of this record is kept inthe Douglass Family Records.
