He inherited the position of 25th Chief of Clan Brodie on 15 February 1943. He was an actor between 1945 and 1950. He was a market gardener and land-owner between 1953 and 1980. He was appointed a Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Morayshire in 1958 & Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Nairnshire in 1970.1 He was residing in 1978 at Brodie Castle, Forres, Morayshire, Scotland.
