"Suspects being sought, Murder determined as cause of Tyler's death:
by Tony Virostko, "Evidence of foul play has led police to believethat Raymond L. Tyler, 59, of Crawfordsville was murdered. Tyler, whose badly decomposed body was found in the Wabash River Saturday,May 24, has last been seen on March 5 of this year. According toIndiana State Police Public Affaairs Officer Mark Hartman, ForensicPathologist John Pless of Indianapolis told investigators that anautopsy showed no cause of death, but Pless said that blows to theback of the neck and head with a blunt object is enough evidence toprove foul play in tyler's death. Hartman also said thatinvestigators for the case, Indiana State Police detective JerryStateler and Parke County Sheriff Mike Eslinger, now believe thattyler was robbed of approximately $1000 before he was killed. Theyalso stated that suspects are being sought. Etc..."

Which is what happened shortly after her surgery in 1954.When the bacteria was exposed to the oxygenated air with her abdominaltype surgery it began to multiply quickly, and caused her death.Apparently, the strain of bacteria was brought back to the UnitedStates from Korea possibly by returning soldiers after the Korean War.
