Sir Archiuald Douglass, the second son of John Douglass, of Tilwhilly, and Mary Young succeeded to the property, as his elder brother had died without male issue, but he never made up titles to it. He married Eleanor Touchet, daughter to Lord Audley (q.v.).
It is claimed that because he had burnt her prophecies, she struck him dumb, reducing his speech to pig-like grunts. He subsequently lived with relatives
