- THIS family draws its original descent from one De Warren, of a family of that name in Durham, or the north-riding of Yorkshire; Robert de Warren settled his family in East-Lothian, or in the county of Hadington, and he and his descendants, by a sudden transposition, came to use the name of Warrender, [as at present].
