  (Research):Elsewhere it is suggested that she was Helen Hamilton (d by 1575, niece or granddaughter of Robert Richardson, commendator of St. Mary's Isle) There is some contradiction as to which wife was the mother of Lewis but his approximate birth date and the date of his parents' (presumably post-nuptial) marriage contract suggest that his mother was Helen Hamilton.
