Notes |
- Sources from which this family's details were taken may have confused this Robert (169141), who died 1887, with the Robert (169127) who died 1878, and who married Susan surname unknown. There appears to be a duplication of children. Or are they the same person?
What is confusing, was between the end of 1860's Robert Douglas Sr. and his son Norman E. Douglas ages 69 and 29 went to North Carolina appearing on the 1870 census for Grassy Creek, Mitchell Co.NC, still single at that time....(Duglis)
Robert Douglas Sr. goes to NC after the death of his wife Susan Douglas in 1868, has land and marries Mary (Mary alph)Crassion on 09-03-1874 in Mitchell Co. NC. Nothing else is know about them, until he shows up back in WA with little Martha Douglas born about 1874 in NC. Robert Douglas Sr. d:1878 in Elma WA and little Martha is living with her older brother Albert Douglas in Seattle,WA in 1881, and Martha died of Diphtheria in 1883 in Seattle,WA. Albert Douglas then dies in 1891, Seattle WA and Douglas the other older brother died in 1908 Seattle WA. It is curious,if their mother was with them in Washington, or else, another family was watching her, maybe even her brother Abel Douglas. I know it was said she lived with "Albert to go to school in Seattle.
