- TSP (Dundee) reports that "In December 1586 George Haliburton of Pitcur granted a charter of the lands of Thorngreen to his son James and Margaret Scrimgeour, his future wife". BLG1886 (Graham of Fintry) reports that "Mary, dau, of James Halliburton, of Pitcur, by Margaret his wife, dau. of Sir James Scrymgeour, of Dudhope, 1st Viscount of Dundee". Whilst BLG1886 is wrong to call James Scrymgeour the 1st Viscount (Margaret's brother was the 1st), these points suggest that James of Thorngreen later inherited Pitcur. Note that the marriage dates make it look difficult but not impossible for this George to be the same as the George above whose siblings intermarried with the Maules.
