ALVIN BRIGHT CORY, 79, of Lafayette and formerly of Parke County, diedat 2:45 P.M. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. Born May15, 1915, in West Union, he was the son of Alvy Bright Cory and GraceA. Farner. He had worked as a carpenter foreman at SimmonsConstruction Co. in Indianapolis for 35 years when he retired in 1980. He was a 1933 graduate of Montezuma High School and a Navy Veteran ofWorld War II. He was also a member of Carpenter Local 215 andattended Christian and Methodist Churches. Survivors include hiswife, Juanita Wolfe Cory; three daughters, Jean Hinshaw of Sheridan,Janette Wilson of Clarks Hill and Joan Kingery of Mishawaka; twosisters, Ethel Morgan of Marshall and Irene Webster of Clarkston,Mich.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren,great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be heldat 11 A.M. Friday at Hahn Chapel in Linden with Larry Pittsofficiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Romney.visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M.
