- "William Pearson To Nancy Rector ss. Be it Remembered, That on this30th day of April 1849, the following marriage license was issued,to=wit: INDIANA, TO-WIT: Fountain COUNTY, SS.
TO ALL WHO SHALL SEE THESE PRESENTS, GREETING: Know ye, that anyperson legally authorized to solemnize matrimony is hereby licensed tojoin in marriage as husband and wife, Mr. William Pearson and MissNancy Rector, and for so doing this shall be his sufficient authority. In testimony whereof, I Joseph Hishire (very difficult make out handwriting) Clerk of the Fountain Circuit Court, hereunto subscribe myname, and affix the seal of said court, this 30th day of April 1849.Signed: jHishire (cannot read-same as above) Clerk.
