- "Obituary: (Taken from a hand written original by Joyce Lorraine CloreElkins.) CLARENCE R. ELKINS died: October 06, 1927. Again theHeavenly Father has visited our home and claimed our only son, whoselife was short, but in that short time his loving babyish, ways foundtheir way into the hearts of all who knew him. Clarence R. Elkins,baby son of Samuel and Gladys Elkins, was born, December 17, 1926 anddeparted for his Heavenly home, October 06, 1927 age 9 mo and 19 days. Although several days of Clarence's short life was spent in illness,he had a smile for those he met to the last. His last hours werespent in the Riley Hospital. ___Clarence leaves behind his fatherand mother, three sisters, Dorotha, Vera, and Helen, a grandmother, agreat-grandmother, two uncles and one aunt, Mrs. Hanna D__________anda host of other dear relatives and dear friends who will miss hiscunning ways. "Life is left to God Will bring a greater yield Ofgolden harvest and of repined field Than all the weary plannings ofthy soul Can force to be, or strength_______________-good from all_____________

NOTE FROM JOYCE ELKINS TO HER DAUGHTER SANDRA: c.03 Aug. 1977 A.D. "Clarence Richard lived nine months and nineteen days. He died ofBroncho-Pneumonia at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. He is buried atWolf Creek Cemetery, at Grange Corner, South of Wallace, Indiana." NoStone-buried back fence row along side his sister Nellie AlvertaElkins.
