Services for Marie L. Jacobs, 68, of 2700 9th St., Rock Island, are10:30 a.m. Saturday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline (IL). Burialis in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island (IL).
Visitation is 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be left atthe funeral home for a fund to be established in her name. She diedTuesday at Illini Hospital (Silvis, IL.). Marie Pitsch was born Dec.20, 1919, in Rock Island (IL), where she married Sam Jacobs Sept. 4,1948.
Mrs. Jacobs was employed as a supply clerk at the Rock Island Arsenaland later as a vegetable and salad cook for 17 years at the formerCentral Junior High School, Rock Island, currently Lincoln ElementarySchool, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of Memorial Christian Church, Rock Island; AmericanAssociation of Retired Persons; and Lincoln Elementary District 41Union.
Survivors include the widower; a daughter Diana Forsythe, Silvis (IL);step-daughters, Sandra Chance, Bettendorf (IA), and Patricia Draper,East Moline (IL); a stepson, Kenneth Jacobs, Shawnee, Kan.; eightgrandchildren; a great-grandson; and sisters, Mildred Harris andGeraldine Pitsch, both of Rock Island (IL), Rose Podlash, Holiday,Fla., and Ramona Perleth, Jacksonville, N.C."
