  Bertie was reportedly a member of the Nestle family and from Switzerland. They were married there where Emery went to school in Bolgna, Italy. She suffered from epilepsy or something which caused seizures which he did not know when they were married. Her father paid for the wedding and paid for a limousine for the honeymoon in the mountains. The marriage lasted only about 2 years when she returned to Switzerland.
