- "Wm. Henry (Bill) Maxwell served in the Confederate Army under Gen. Price during the Civil War with his brother John Maxwell and his cousins Wm. and Charles Whitley and half-uncle, Rufus Sensintaffar.
"Married his cousin Lutisha Whitley, about 1868..... Bill and Lutisha moved to Bonham, Texas, about 1870 with her father, Mike Whitley and family, and the Bob Whitleys. In 1890 the J. D. Maxwells and Geo. Hollands and Bill and Lutisha Maxwell, all went to Durant, Okla., then to Indian Ter. Bill and Lutisha did not like Okla. moved back to Texas. Bought a farm near Bonham, Tex. and lived there till he died. Lutisha then went to live with her daughter Linnie Maxwell-Thornton.
"After Bill and Lutisha raised their family, they took the two orphan boys of Jim and Fanny Whitley Daniel - Earl and Clyde Daniel - and raised them."
