- Burley G. Douglas was born Burleough G. Douglas, however he went by the name of Burley his entire life. He was raised by his grandparents, James T. and Celia Douglas after his mothers death when he was only five months old. This brought about a confrontational situation between the Douglases and the Morgans, parents of his mother Helen Morgan Douglas. This situation apparently still exist today.
Burley sold insurance for many years in Jeffersonville and New Albany Indiana and he retired as a district manger of the Georgia Life Insurance company
