- Emil was confirmed a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, RR1, Rockwell City, Iowa in 1915. Emil attended rural school from 1907 to 1916. He then attended Immanuel Lutheran School, in Rockwell City from 1914 to 1915. Emil lived in the SE 1/4 of section 25, Center Township, Calhoun Co., Iowa until his marriage in 1924. Then Emil and Esther moved to the NE 1/4 of section 26, Center Township, Iowa, and lived there from 1924 to 1934. In 1934 the moved to the NW 1/4 of section 36, Center Township, Iowa, where they lived at 130 Main St., Rockwell City, Iowa.
