  Margaret Campbell was the heir (succeeded in 1648) and daughter of John [and Margaret Campbell] Campbell, son of Hew Campbell and Elizabeth Dunbar (dau of John Dunbar of Barmuir), who was son of Hugh Campbell (-1602) and Katherine Baird who obtained a charter for the lands of Garallane from Sir Matthew Campbell of Loudon in 1562.
