- Harness maker, farmer, and Christian minister, ordained Sept. 20, 1826 (above the word Christian is penciled in Methodist book says)
(after 1826 it says- ? history first preacher in Marion).
(When I was a boy, there were nice stories about this Aunt Mary. Apparently she did not approve of her husbands efforts as a minister,
and cut up pranks with him. It being the age when there were supposed to be witches, she was supposed to be one of them. S.C.B.)
John was 6 ft. 2 in. in height. When I was a boy and anyone in the family was tall, or had red hair, he was supposed to show his Case
