Case family NY - New Zealand Connection

A wonderful album of photos has come into my hands with virtually all photos unnamed. There are however 4 photos of a family from Auburn, NY whom I tracked through the 1880 census.
The family is Henry CASE (1839) and his wife
Sarah E. CASE (1839). Their children were Nellie (1862), Warren E. CASE (1863), Wheeler C. (1864), H. Jay (1873), Edith A. (1875).
They were in Census District 1 Auburn, Cayuga, New York.
I know it is a long shot but I would dearly love to know why these great photos ended up in a album in Christchurch NZ with one of my family. Also, they are such super photos that CASE descendants would be delighted if I could find a good home for them.
