Notes |
- From Bryan Cass:
Her body was interred about 1825. Anne was a war widow with one son John. Rumours have persisted that she was a sister or niece of Josiah's first wife Mercy. The former is NOT correct and the latter doubtful. Further data is being researched to clarify. Her husband's name (as of Jan.17/1994) is unknown nor is anything known of his origins. The Haldimand Papers listing sustenance given to refugees show her as the widow McIntyre coming via Montreal to the refugee camp at Maschiche with two sons. This shows up in Montreal and Maschiche entries. As at 1/17/94 we do not know when or the name of the one who had to have died at Machiche. The survivor was named John.
