- William died during a flu epidemic. Internment was at Rosehill Cemetary in Rockwell City, Iowa.
This was during the 1st World War and because there were no doctors available, they called an animal doctor. He had them put William in a bedroom, coverd him with only a sheet, and opened the windows to let in the cold winter air to bring down his fever. He became much worse and died within a few days.
