Notes |
- Susan Doran recounts: "I have in writing--by my grandfather's older brother--an amusing reference about Consider's loyalty to the King during the Revolutionary War, and how he was marooned on his farm by his neighbors. When the war was over he was told he could leave the farm, and he said, "Damned if I will!" and stayed there until his death."

I am in the process (which is now about 80% complete) of scanning and copying to CD-ROM for posterity a handwritten manuscript [i.e., a book of some 300 pages] by Consider (3) while he was "incarcerated" on his Hartland, Hartford Co., CT, farm, circa 1778. My title for this manuscript, which is some 220 years old, is "A Tory's View of Colonial America." The book is a fascinating journey through the turbulent times of the Revolutionary Period complete with first hand experiences, rumors, heresay, and historical background as told by the schoolmaster he was. The handwriting is truly beautiful! The original manuscript has been passed down through my line of the family from eldest son to eldest son and ultimately reached me, the 11th generation of Tiffanys in America. A number of today's Tiffanys have expressed interest in receiving copies of the CD-ROM when it is complete. I am producing it for cost so the price for a copy likely will be less than $10. If you are interested, feel free to contact me via e-mail.
