I run a One-Name Study for SHERWOOD & variants in England, and may be able
to help you 'jump the Pond', particularly as my own Sherwoods came from
Kent. If it is true that your Thomas was born and married at Otham near
Maidstone in Kent, then it will be of great interest to many on this list!
Can you tell us what evidence you have for this, and whether you have
searched the parish registers for Otham? It seems a bit unlikely to me that
if Thomas, a Carpenter came from Otham, married a girl from far away in
Wingrave, Bucks and then emigrated to New England from Ipswich.
I will send details of my ONS as a separate file attachment.

certainly they could have been married and had a child before he was that old!
Our records have Thomas Sherwood as being born in 1585 and Alice born in 1586.
