- Admiral of the Blue Squadron, R.N., Port Admiral at Yarmouth and subsequently Chatham, Kent. He commanded the Stately 64, in expeditions against the Cape of Good Hope 1795 and 1796.
One of his daughters married Capt Mathew Barton Bradby, (son of Rear Admiral Bradby, d1809) who died when the ship he was on was struck by lightening off Spithead, 5th May 1831.
