- Mr. Case left the A. & P. R. R. in 1879, to take charge of his father-in-law's farm in East Claridon, O. After Mr. Chace died, Mr. Case returned to Ashtabula, O., and has ever since lived upon his father's farm situated two and one-half miles south and east of the city. In 1887 he cast his lot with the Odd Fellows, joining Western Reserve, Lodge No. 59, in June, and Amity Encampment in Oct. the same year. Taking at once an interest in his lodges, he was quickly advanced, and passed the chairs in both branches in July 1889, becoming a P. G. and a P. C. P. Received the G. L. and G. Enc' Degrees same year in Sep. at Columbus, O. time of Sovereign, Grand Lodge. Was D. D. G. M. in 1890, and D. D. G. P. in 1892; was representative of the 51st district, composed of Ashtabula and Lake Co's. to the Grand Enc'p. 1893-4-5-6, and Grand Cond'r of Grand Lodge in 1898. Filling all these positions with credit to himself and his lodge. He has collected in the last few years, history and data of the descendants of John Case, of Windsor, Conn. 1656, and expects to place it in book form sometime in the near future.
