  She was given the name of Anne Hope at birth. Her name was legally changed to Anne Hope Johnstone. In 1816 she claimed the Annandale titles on the same basis as her father, but no progress was made before her death. She held the office of Hereditary Steward of Annandale and Hereditary Keeper of Lochmaben Palace.
