- The only son of Sir James Duff and Basilia Dawes was born on January 21-, 1801. lie was educated at Winchester College, and was subsequently at Brazenose College, Oxford, where he matriculated in 1822, and left 1824.
Three years afterwards he married, December 22, 1827,in Paris, Eliza Charlotte, daughter of Sir George Beeston Prescott of Theobalds, Herts, and resided chiefly at Innes House, which belonged for life to his father, and would seem to have been made over to him.
For several years of his married life he kept a brief journal of his dailydoings. He seems to have had very indifferent health, and finally fell into consumplion, of wliicli lie died at Lemington on Fel)ruary 10, 1837.he left four children, Iwo daugliters and two sons
