  When her brother Alexander Carre died in 1817 with no issue, Mrs. Riddell became his representative. The land of Cavers descended, in consequence of a disposition dated 1802, September 14, executed by Alexander Carre, to her son Robert Riddell, who took the family name Carre. Robert Riddell-Carre was a Vice Admiral Royal Navy and died in 1860.
