Notes |
- ?Grandmother Keenleyside, whom I can just remember, was a lively and very kindly person. She was also full of fun and a miraculous cook, two qualities that by themselves could almost guarantee a happy family life. For the last few years of her life Grandmother was confined to her bed with a heart condition, but even then she held the domestic reins. She was deeply loved. Father once said quite seriously that if he could not have afforded to travel by train from Vancouver to London when his mother was dying, he would have walked three thousand miles to be with her.?
